The halway stage is here already.....

We are at the halfway stage of the season already and between all of the senior and junior teams we have played 50 games - winning 21 losing 19 with 10 games cancelled or abandoned.

Our 1st X1 currently sit 3rd in the SWPCL - with 4 wins and 4 losses in a very compeitive league. Skipper Gareth Thomas scored his 8th SWPCL century last saturday combined with a fantastic all round fielding and bowling performance - we now look ahead to Mumbles this saturday. A fantastic effort in Chepstow the week before which saw Tom Davies skipper the club for the first time - a debut for Oliver John combined with the experience of Simon Rogers,Ian Hughes and others cam eback with a vital 10 points after a rain affected game. Gareth Thomas 229, Tom Davies 202 top run scorers / Owen Bailey 14, Owain Binding 11, iestyn Scourfield 9 top wicket takers.

Our 2nd X1 have won just the one game this year against Gorseinon but with lots of youngsters involved - a squad of 25 players having already played atleast one game - there are lots of positives to take. Eddie Byng took 6 wickets in Mumbles , Harry Conick scoring a 50 at Neath , 13 year olds Louie Conick, Cai Griffiths and Leon Evans all making their senior debuts. Not forgetting Simon Rogers' 6-31 against Gorseinon which included a hattrick ball and 4 in the over. We travel to Llanelli this saturday. Carl Holding 155 top run scorer / Eddie Byng 10, Steffan Jones 8 top wicket takers

Our womens team have played 1 won 1 in their league so far - frustrated with 3 league days called off but now re arranged for July. They narrowly lost in the welsh cup to pembroke Dock in their first ever proper rules game. Next league game at Kidwelly this sunday against Bronwydd and Laugharne.

Our U17s currently sit join top with Ammanford and Pontarddulais - led by Ifan Knott we have had some great results - including scoring over 200 against Llangennech - Ifan Knott scoring his 2nd 50 after getting one at Ammanford - he also took 5-6 in the same game. Strong performances also from Oli John, Harry Conick & Benji Thomas. Next week we host Ammanford.

Our U15s sit 2nd in the league behind Drefach. Strong performances against Bronwydd and Llanelli scoring over 130 in both games.Benji Thomas, Harrison Taylor, Jac Thomas and Harri llewelyn amongst the runs and wickets - a great team perfomance in both games - a loss against drefach last week after a decent opeing stand by Thomas Williams and Benji Thomas. This week we head to Ammanford.

Our U13s have played 7 won 3 lost 3 - some strong performances against Ammanford and Kidwelly. In one game scoring 208 for no wicket - lots of opportunites for players to score runs and take wickets - led by Louie Conick. Some decent performances by Alffi Harley, Leon Evans, Cai Giffiths,Sion Rowlands to name a few . Our next game is away to Kidwelly.

Our Under 13s girls currently sit top of their zone. With 3 wins from 5 including a loss at Port Talbot the girls have done extremely well. Wins against Gowerton and Briton ferry Steel - Lots of great individual performances - Elin Davies leads the bowling with 5 wickets - Emily Hatfield,Maddie Potter,Ffion Rees all with 3 wickets. Carys Jones leads the batting with 42 runs, Elin, Maddie and Charlie Gibson all with over 30 runs so far. Next game is away to gowerton.

The Under 11s have played 6 won 3 lost 2. Alffi Harley top scoing with 68 runs so far. Again lots of opportunities for players to bat and bowl. Alffi Harley leading the bowling with 9 wickets - Finley Booth and Ellio Butler jenkins both with 3 wickets. Our next game is home to Llandysul.

The Under 10s playing their first year in league cricket have done extremely well. Playing 6 winning 2 losing 2 and 2 called off. Dion Jones and Steffan Roberts lead the bowling with 2 wickets each - last week against Ammanford we 104 wthout losing a wicket which is a great effort by the team. Our next game is this thurday home to Pontarddulais.

Our U9s have played in the friendly softball festivals - the first one in Carmarthen with the next two in Ammanford and Bronwydd. A great start for our young team.
